When you visit or call our shop you will get a warm welcome from Rosemary, Alan or Julie
Rosemary and Alan Moore-Fiander (then a couple of Poms working in Hong Kong) first visited Margaret River on holiday in 2001. So inspired were they by the wonderful scenery, food and wine and the interesting, friendly and talented locals that they curtailed their plans to spend another 5 years in the corporate world and embarked on a sea-change like no other.
After taking over an embryonic olive grove, they soon expanded their enterprise into town, establishing first THE GOOD OLIVE cafe and, later the food and gift store of the same name. Rosemary turned her love of good food and beautiful things into the inspiration for the cafe and the store that both became favourite places for locals and out of towners looking to find the genuine Margaret River food experience or gift. Since those early days, Rosemary and Alan have become proud Australia citizens, and the olive grove and the cafe have been sold but the shop continues to deliver as promised.
Our manager, Julie Kinney, known to many as a cordon bleu cook and a prize winning gardener, has lived in Margaret River since 1995. Combining these attributes with a great eye for style and a friendly smile she is always willing to help her customers with their choice of purchase, and how to make the best use of the magical foodstuffs on offer.
